# POST /openContract

`POST /openContract`

Creates a contract within Reach.

## Response `200`

The contract was successfully created in the Reach system.

## Other responses

- `400` — If present, the openContract request structure was invalid and unable to be parsed.
- `404` — If present, a value of the request was unable to be found. For example, if the MerchantId provided could not be found in the given environment
- `503` — There was a system problem and the request should be tried again.
- `2XX` — If present, a contract could not be created due to an error. An HTTP 200 status code will be returned to indicate that the request was structured properly but an error was encountered.
