# POST /capture

`POST /capture`

Capture a pre-authorized order. This requires that the payment method support pre-authorization and the Capture flag to be false in the related checkout or authorize request.

## Response `200`

The order was successfully captured in the Reach system.

## Other responses

- `400` — If present, the capture request structure was invalid and unable to be parsed.
- `404` — If present, a value of the request was unable to be found. For example, if the MerchantId provided could not be found in the given environment
- `503` — There was a system problem and the request should be tried again.
- `2XX` — If present, the order could not be captured due to an error. An HTTP 200 status code will be returned to indicate that the request was structured properly but an error was encountered.
