# Delete reaction

`DELETE /reactions/{id}`

Remove an emoji reaction from a message or forum post. Only the reaction author or a channel admin can remove a reaction.

Required permissions:
 - `chat:read`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `emoji` string, nullable — The emoji to remove, in shortcode or unicode format. For example, ':heart:' or a unicode emoji. Required when the id refers to a message or post instead of a reaction.

## Response `200`

A successful response

- boolean — Represents `true` or `false` values.

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad request
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden
- `404` — Not found
- `422` — Verification required
- `429` — Too many requests
- `500` — Internal server error
