# unblock a contact

`POST /instances/{id}/client/action/unblock-contact`

Removes a contact from the blocked contacts list, allowing them to send messages and see your information again according to your privacy settings.

## Path parameters

- `id` integer, required

## Request body

  - `contactId` string, required — The ID of the contact to unblock in the format number@c.us

## Response `200`

Contact unblocked successfully

    - `contactId` string — The ID of the unblocked contact
    - `unblocked` boolean — Indicates whether the contact was successfully unblocked

## Other responses

- `401` — Unauthorized — invalid or missing bearer token
- `403` — Forbidden — insufficient permissions or account blocked
- `404` — Not found — instance does not exist or does not belong to you
- `409` — Conflict — instance is not ready
- `422` — Validation error — invalid or missing request parameters
- `429` — Too many requests — rate limit exceeded
