# Send a message to a match chat room

`POST /matches/{matchId}/chat`

Sends a message to a match's chat room as the API key owner. The owner must be a participant of the match; a non-participant receives 403. Requires the chat.write scope and the writes feature. Supports the Idempotency-Key header.

## Path parameters

- `matchId` string, required — Match ID. The caller must be a participant of this match.

## Request body

- SendChatMessageRequestBody — Sends a message to the match chat room as the API key owner.
  - `content` string, required — Message body (1-255 chars).

## Response `200`

The message was sent.

- SendChatMessageResponse
  - `success` true, required
  - `messageId` string, required — Created message ID.
  - `timestamp` string, required — Response generation time (ISO 8601).

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad request (invalid body, cursor, limit, or date).
- `401` — Missing or invalid API key.
- `403` — API key lacks the required permission.
- `404` — Resource not found.
- `409` — Conflict.
- `429` — Rate limited.
- `500` — Internal server error.
