# Delete a recording

`DELETE /recordings/{id}`

Deletes a recording. The recording file will be removed from storage asynchronously.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required — The ID of the recording.

## Response `200`

Deleted recording

- Recording — A call recording
  - `call` object, required — The call that produced this recording
    - `contact` Contact, required — A contact who has consented to receive messages
      - `email` string, email — The contact's email address.
      - `first_name` string — The contact's first name.
      - `id` string, required — Unique identifier for the object.
      - `last_name` string — The contact's last name.
      - `metadata` Metadata — Set of key-value pairs that will be stored with the object.
      - `phone_number` string, phone-number, required — The contact's phone number in E.164 format.
    - `duration` integer, required — The duration of the call in seconds
    - `id` string, required — The unique identifier for the call
    - `initiated_at` string, date-time, required — When the call was initiated
    - `status` 'busy' | 'canceled' | 'completed' | 'failed' | 'in_progress' | 'missed' | 'no_answer' | 'queued' | 'ringing', required — The status of the call
  - `duration` integer, required — The duration of the recording in seconds
  - `id` string, required — The unique identifier for the recording
