# Latest value per country for a WHO GHO indicator

`GET /api/v1/health/who/latest/{code}`

Return the latest available value per country for a World Health Organization Global Health Observatory (WHO GHO) indicator. Internally fetches the indicator's country-scoped rows, groups by `SpatialDim`, and selects the row with the maximum `TimeDim` for each country. Pass `country` to restrict the result to a single country. Only rows with `SpatialDimType=COUNTRY` and `Dim1=SEX_BTSX` (both sexes) are considered to avoid mixing disaggregated breakdowns.

## Path parameters

- `code` string, required — Indicator code (e.g. `MDG_0000000007` for under-5 mortality, `WHOSIS_000001` for life expectancy).

## Query parameters

- `country` string, nullable — Optional ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code to restrict the result to a single country.

## Response `200`

Latest value per country with ISO3 code, year, numeric value, and confidence interval when available.

- EnvelopeWhoGhoLatestPayload
  - `data` WhoGhoLatestPayload, required — Latest value per country for an indicator.

      - `year` integer, nullable — Year of the latest observation.
      - `value` number, nullable — Numeric value of the latest observation.
      - `value_display` string, nullable — Pre-formatted display string with confidence interval when available.
      - `low` number, nullable — Lower bound of the confidence interval, when published.
      - `high` number, nullable — Upper bound of the confidence interval, when published.
      - `date_published` string, nullable — ISO 8601 publication timestamp of this row.
    - `count` integer, required — Number of entries returned.
  - `meta` SugraMeta, required — Metadata attached to every /api/v1/* response envelope.

    - `response_time` string, required — ISO 8601 UTC timestamp when this response was produced.
    - `provider` string, required — API name and version.
    - `source` string, nullable — Identifier of the primary upstream source used for this response.
    - `attribution` string, nullable — Human-readable attribution mandated by an upstream source (e.g. a securities regulator or self-regulatory organization). Present only on responses whose source requires the owner and source to be clearly identified. Do not remove or alter it when using the response.
    - `fallback_used` boolean, nullable — True when the primary source failed and a fallback produced the data.
    - `fallback_chain` string[], nullable — Ordered list of sources attempted, in the order they were tried.
    - `cached` boolean, nullable — True when this response was served from the internal cache.
    - `stale` boolean, nullable — True when the cached response was returned after the upstream rate-limited or errored. Clients can use this to detect degraded data.

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid `x-api-key` header.
- `422` — Validation Error
