Policy overnight rate target
Target for the overnight rate (series V39079, end-of-month) alongside the monthly average overnight rate (V122514). The overnight rate target is the Bank of Canada's primary monetary-policy instrument, set eight times per year at scheduled decisions plus ad-hoc moves when warranted.
Decision dates follow the published Bank of Canada calendar; values change in increments of 25 basis points as the normal rule.
