Chartered-bank prime lending rate

Prime rate (V80691311) is the base reference banks use to price variable-rate consumer and business loans. The Bank of Canada publishes a daily value based on the rates posted by the six largest chartered banks. Typically moves in 25 bp steps in tandem with the overnight rate target.
