# Contact objects publishing an abuse mailbox (RIPE DB inverse abuse-mailbox)

`GET /api/v1/network/abuse/{mailbox}/objects`

Every object in the RIPE Database whose abuse-mailbox: is this address - the role / irt contact objects that publish a given abuse inbox. Inverse lookup on the abuse-mailbox attribute; no type filter. Note: abuse-mailbox lives on contact objects, NOT on inetnum/aut-num (those reach it indirectly via abuse-c, often inherited from the organisation), so this returns the contacts - resolving a resource's abuse address is the job of /asn|ip/{..}/abuse and the dedicated abuse-contact resolver. Upstream registry: 'global' (all RIRs via GRS, default) | ripe | ripe-nonauth | <rir>-grs.

## Path parameters

- `mailbox` string, required — Abuse-contact email address.

## Query parameters

- `source` string — Upstream registry: 'global' (all RIRs via GRS, default) | ripe | ripe-nonauth | <rir>-grs.
- `limit` integer — Max objects returned.
- `prefer` string — Serving preference for the W7 local graph: 'local' (serve local for RIPE-region-scoped queries with live fallback, default) | 'live' (force the live RIPE Database). See _meta.served_from. The v1 graph is RIPE-region-only, so the default source=global stays live (not_covered); use ?source=ripe/ripe-nonauth to serve from the local graph.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- unknown

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid `x-api-key` header. JSON body with a stable `code` distinguishing `missing_api_key` (no header sent) from `invalid_api_key` (header sent, key not accepted); any other 401 source carries the generic `unauthorized` with its detail as `reason`. Plus `hint`. `plan` is always null on 401 - an unauthenticated request has no plan; quota exhaustion is 429, not 401.
- `422` — Validation Error
- `429` — Daily rate limit exceeded. Check `X-RateLimit-Reset` for the next window.
- `503` — Upstream source is temporarily unavailable. Retry after a short delay.
