# SDDS sectoral cube shortcuts

`GET /api/v1/central-banks/sarb/sectoral-sdds`

Preview rows (first 20) from each of the seven SARB SDDS (IMF Special Data Dissemination Standard) sectoral cubes: Real Sector (GDP composition), External Sector (BOP), Financial Sector (Depository Corporations Survey), Fiscal Sector (General Government Operations), Business Cycles, Population, and Footnotes. Use `/series/{quote_name}` with the TimeseriesCode from any sample row to fetch deep history. Source: South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

## Response `200`

Head rows + total counts for each of the seven SDDS sectoral cubes.

- EnvelopeSarbSectoralSddsPayload
  - `data` SarbSectoralSddsPayload, required
    - `sectors` SarbSddsSector[], required — Summary (head + counts) for each of the seven SDDS sectoral cubes.
      - `sector` string, required — Sugra sector key (real_sector, external_sector, financial_sector, fiscal_sector, business_cycles, population, footnotes).
      - `count_total` integer, required — Total upstream row count for the sectoral cube.
      - `count_sample` integer, required — Number of head rows returned in `sample`.
      - `sample` SarbSddsRow[], required — First 20 rows of the sectoral cube as a preview.
        - `id` string, nullable — Upstream identifier (e.g. `IMFRS`).
        - `type_name` string, nullable — Type name (e.g. `SDDS Real Sector`).
        - `section_id` string, nullable — Section identifier (e.g. `IMFRSG1`).
        - `section_name` string, nullable — Section label (e.g. `GDP at current prices, by production approach`).
        - `timeseries_code` string, nullable — SARB TimeseriesCode for the underlying series.
        - `measure_name` string, nullable — Measure label (e.g. `Agriculture, forestry and fishing`).
        - `value` number, nullable — Observation value.
        - `value_date` string, nullable — Observation date (ISO 8601).
        - `unit_of_measure` string, nullable — Unit (e.g. `R Million`, `Index`).
        - `publishing_agency` string, nullable — Publishing agency (SARB, SARS, STATS SA, etc.).
        - `format_number` string, nullable — Number format hint.
        - `format_date` string, nullable — Date format hint.
      - `latest_value_date` string, nullable — Newest ValueDate across the full cube.
    - `count_sectors` integer, required — Number of sectoral cubes returned.
  - `meta` SugraMeta, required — Metadata attached to every /api/v1/* response envelope.
    - `endpoint` string, required — Requested endpoint path.
    - `data_time` string, required — ISO 8601 UTC timestamp of the source data, not of the request.
    - `response_time` string, required — ISO 8601 UTC timestamp when this response was produced.
    - `provider` string, required — API name and version.
    - `source` string, nullable — Identifier of the primary upstream source used for this response.
    - `attribution` string, nullable — Human-readable attribution mandated by an upstream source (e.g. a securities regulator or self-regulatory organization). Present only on responses whose source requires the owner and source to be clearly identified. Do not remove or alter it when using the response.
    - `fallback_used` boolean, nullable — True when the primary source failed and a fallback produced the data.
    - `fallback_chain` string[], nullable — Ordered list of sources attempted, in the order they were tried.
    - `cached` boolean, nullable — True when this response was served from the internal cache.
    - `stale` boolean, nullable — True when the cached response was returned after the upstream rate-limited or errored. Clients can use this to detect degraded data.

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid `x-api-key` header. JSON body with a stable `code` distinguishing `missing_api_key` (no header sent) from `invalid_api_key` (header sent, key not accepted); any other 401 source carries the generic `unauthorized` with its detail as `reason`. Plus `hint`. `plan` is always null on 401 - an unauthenticated request has no plan; quota exhaustion is 429, not 401.
- `429` — Daily rate limit exceeded. Check `X-RateLimit-Reset` for the next window.
- `503` — Upstream source is temporarily unavailable. Retry after a short delay.
