# BatchDeleteCatalogObjects

`POST /v2/catalog/batch-delete`

Deletes a set of [CatalogItem](https://developer.squareup.com/reference/square_2021-08-18/objects/CatalogItem)s based on the
provided list of target IDs and returns a set of successfully deleted IDs in
the response. Deletion is a cascading event such that all children of the
targeted object are also deleted. For example, deleting a CatalogItem will
also delete all of its [CatalogItemVariation](https://developer.squareup.com/reference/square_2021-08-18/objects/CatalogItemVariation)
children.

`BatchDeleteCatalogObjects` succeeds even if only a portion of the targeted
IDs can be deleted. The response will only include IDs that were
actually deleted.

## Request body

- BatchDeleteCatalogObjectsRequest
  - `object_ids` string[] — The IDs of the CatalogObjects to be deleted. When an object is deleted, other objects in the graph that depend on that object will be deleted as well (for example, deleting a CatalogItem will delete its CatalogItemVariation.

## Response `200`

Success

- BatchDeleteCatalogObjectsResponse
  - `deleted_at` string — The database [timestamp](https://developer.squareup.com/docs/build-basics/working-with-dates) of this deletion in RFC 3339 format, e.g., "2016-09-04T23:59:33.123Z".
  - `deleted_object_ids` string[] — The IDs of all CatalogObjects deleted by this request.
  - `errors` Error[] — Any errors that occurred during the request.
    - `category` string, required — The high-level category for the error.
    - `code` string, required — The specific code of the error.
    - `detail` string — A human-readable description of the error for debugging purposes.
    - `field` string — The name of the field provided in the original request (if any) that the error pertains to.
