# Expire a member

`POST /loyalty/members/{card_code}/optout`

Expire a member from a program based on its card code.

## Path parameters

- `card_code` string, required

## Response `200`

Membership expiration is successful.

## Other responses

- `400` — The request validation failed.
- `401` — Authentication failed.
- `403` — Forbidden.
- `404` — Membership not found.
