# Add a suppression

`POST /suppression/add`

Suppresses the specified email address or domain

## Request body

- object
  - `email_address` string, required — The email address or domain you would like to suppress from deliveries
  - `block_description` string — The description given for suppressing the email or domain from deliveries
  - `subaccount_id` string — If you wish to make this API call on behalf of a subaccount then include its unique ID here

## Response `200`

Suppression successful
