# Create a memo on a matter

`POST /matters/{matterId}/memos`

Creates a memo on the specified matter.

## Path parameters

- `matterId` string, required

## Request body

- MemoDto
  - `title` string, required — The title of the memo.
  - `text` string, required — The text (content) of the memo. Supports plain-text and RTF.
  - `userId` string, nullable — Unique identifier of the user.
  - `createdDateUtc` string, date-time, nullable — Date that the memo was created. Will default to the current date and time, if not supplied.

## Response `202`

When request is accepted. Returns a hypermedia 'Link' object of the memo to be created.

## Other responses

- `400` — When an unsupported request is made.
