# Create a Queue

`POST /Accounts/{AccountSid}/Queues`

Create a call queue. Queue names must be unique among active queues within an account and can only contain alphanumeric characters and underscores. Deleted queue names can be reused.

#### Permissions

The API token used to authenticate must have the following scope(s) enabled to make a successful request: _Voice_.

## Path parameters

- `AccountSid` string, uuid, required — Universal Unique Identifier.

## Response `201`

Response returned when a queue is successfully created.

- Queue — Queue model.
  - `sid` string, uuid, required — Universal Unique Identifier.
  - `account_sid` string, uuid, required — Universal Unique Identifier.
  - `friendly_name` string, required — A description that distinguishes a queue.
  - `max_size` integer, nullable, required — The maximum number of calls that are allowed to wait in a queue. Null if no limit is set.
  - `current_size` integer, required — The number of calls currently waiting in the queue.
  - `average_wait_time` integer, required — The average wait time, in seconds, of callers in a queue.
  - `date_created` string, required — The date and time, in RFC 2822 format, the Queue was created.
  - `date_updated` string, required — The date and time, in RFC 2822 format, the Queue was updated.
  - `api_version` string, required — The version of the SignalWire API.
  - `uri` string, required — The URI of this resource, relative to the API base URL.

## Other responses

- `400` — The request was invalid or cannot be processed. Check the error details for more information.
- `401` — Authentication failed. Please verify your credentials and try again.
- `422` — The request could not be processed due to validation errors. Check the error details for more information.
