Delete Content

Permanently delete a content item.

Deletion is immediate and final: the item disappears from feeds, search, the portal library, and every API lookup, and its streaming and thumbnail URLs are permanently revoked within seconds to minutes (in-flight players will error). Deleted content cannot be restored through the API.

Analytics history is retained — views, events, and billing records for the item keep working and remain attributed to it, and analytics surfaces keep showing its title and thumbnail. If the item was imported with an externalId, that key is freed immediately: re-importing the same external ID creates a fresh content item with new analytics.

Accessible with the org's secret key or any portal session of the org.
