# Create Manifest

`POST /v1/manifests`

Each ShipEngine manifest is created for a specific warehouse, so you'll need to provide the warehouse_id
rather than the ship_from address. You can create a warehouse for each location that you want to create manifests for.

## Request body

  - CreateManifestByObjectRequestBody — A create manifest request body
    - `carrier_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `excluded_label_ids` SeId[] — The list of label ids to exclude from the manifest
    - `label_ids` SeId[] — The list of label ids to include for the manifest
    - `warehouse_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `ship_date` string, date-time, required — The ship date that the shipment will be sent out on
  - CreateManifestLabelIdsRequestBody — A create manifest request body
    - `label_ids` SeId[], required — The list of label ids to include in the manifest

## Response `200`

The request was a success.

- CreateManifestResponseBody — An error response body
  - `manifests` Manifest[] — Resulting Manifests
    - `manifest_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `form_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `created_at` string, date-time — The date-time that the manifest was created
    - `ship_date` string, date-time — The date-time that the manifests shipments will be picked up
    - `shipments` integer — The number of shipments that are included in this manifest
    - `label_ids` SeId[] — An array of the label ids used in this manifest.
    - `warehouse_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `submission_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies the submission
    - `carrier_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `manifest_download` ManifestDownload — Object containing the href link to download the manifest file
      - `href` string, url — A URL
  - `manifest_requests` ManifestRequest[] — Resulting manifest requests with statuses
    - `manifest_request_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `status` 'in_progress' | 'completed' — The possible statuses of a manifest request
  - `manifest_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
  - `form_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required — The date-time that the manifest was created
  - `ship_date` string, date-time, required — The date-time that the manifests shipments will be picked up
  - `shipments` integer, required — The number of shipments that are included in this manifest
  - `warehouse_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
  - `submission_id` string, required — A string that uniquely identifies the submission

  - `request_id` string, uuid, required — A UUID (a.k.a. GUID) that uniquely identifies a resource
  - `errors` Error[], required — The errors associated with the failed API call
    - `error_source` 'carrier' | 'order_source' | 'shipengine', required — The source of the error, as indicated by the name this informs us if the API call failed because of the carrier, the order source, or the ShipEngine API itself.
    - `error_type` 'account_status' | 'business_rules' | 'validation' | 'security' | 'system' | 'integrations', required — The type of error

    - `carrier_id` string — A string that uniquely identifies a ShipEngine resource, such as a carrier, label, shipment, etc.
    - `carrier_code` string — A [shipping carrier](https://www.shipengine.com/docs/carriers/setup/), such as `fedex`, `dhl_express`, `stamps_com`, etc.
    - `field_name` string — The name of the field that caused the error

## Other responses

- `400` — The request contained errors.
- `500` — An error occurred on ShipEngine's side. > This error will automatically be reported to our engineers.
