# Update a Badge

`POST /badge/{uuid}.json`

#### OAuth Scope
This endpoint requires the following OAuth scope **manage_badges**.

## Path parameters

- `uuid` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- BadgeCreate
  - `uuid` string, uuid — Unique identifier for this record
  - `name` string, required — The display name of the badge. Used to identify the badge in the system. Examples include 'Warranty', 'VIP', 'Take Payment Facilities', etc.
  - `automatically_allocated` string
  - `file_name` string
  - `regarding_form_uuid` string, uuid
  - `regarding_asset_type_uuid` string, uuid — UUID of the asset type that this badge is associated with. Only applicable for asset-based badges. When set, the badge represents a specific asset type in the system and will appear on assets of this type.

Success - The record was updated successfully

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - The request is malformed or contains invalid parameters
- `401` — Unauthorized - Authentication credentials are missing or invalid
- `403` — Forbidden - You don't have permission to update this resource
- `404` — Not Found - The record to update does not exist or has been deleted
- `429` — Too Many Requests - You have exceeded the rate limit
- `500` — Internal Server Error - An unexpected error occurred on the server
