# Create a seat event

`POST /seat-events`

Create a new seat event. Seat events are used for calculating charges.

## Request body

- CreateSeatEventEndpointCreateSeatEventRequestModel
  - `customerEventId` string, nullable — Unique ID provided by customer. Another event with the same customer event ID will supersede this one.
  - `customerAlias` string, required — End-customer alias or ID.
  - `seatType` string, required — Seat type. This can be referenced from a seat metric.
  - `eventTimestamp` string, required — Event timestamp, in ISO 8601 format.
  - `total` integer, required — Total seats consumed for this seat type.

  - `id` string, required — Unique ID for this seat event.
  - `customerEventId` string, required — Unique ID provided by customer. Another event with the same customer event ID will supersede this one.
