# Add a contact to a list

`POST /lists/{list_id}/contacts`

Adds an existing contact to a list. If the contact is already in the list, no duplicate is created.

## Request body

  - `contact_id` integer, required — ID of the contact to add

## Response `200`

Contact added to list

- Contact
  - `id` integer
  - `email` string, email, required
  - `first_name` string
  - `last_name` string
  - `ip_address` string
  - `unsubscribed_at` string, date-time, nullable
  - `created_at` string, date-time
  - `updated_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `403` — Forbidden. Most often an ownership/authorization failure (Laravel's default `{"message": "..."}` shape). If the account is restricted by SendFox, the response instead carries the structured `account_restricted` body with a link to the account status page.
- `404` — Contact not found
- `422` — Validation error
