# Update Estimate Item

`PATCH /estimates/{estimate_id}/items/{item_id}`

Update an existing item in the estimate.

## Path parameters

- `estimate_id` string, required
- `item_id` string, required

  - `assignee_id` integer — Assigned Employee ID
  - `quantity` number, float — Quantity
  - `price` number, float — Price per unit
  - `cost` number, float — Unit cost
  - `discount` object
    - `type` 'percentage' | 'value', required — Discount type. "percentage" — percent, "value" — absolute value.
    - `percentage` number, float, required — Percentage value
    - `amount` number, float, required
    - `sponsor` 'staff' | 'company', required — "staff" — Employee wages calculation is based on the amount after discount. This way the company discount decreases the piecework employee wages. "company" — Employee commissions will be calculated from amount before discount. This way the company discount won't affect the employee commissions.
  - `warranty` object
    - `period` string, required — Warranty period
    - `periodUnits` 'days' | 'months', required — Warranty unit of measure
  - `tax_ids` integer[] — Array of Tax ID
  - `comment` string — Comment text
  - `comment_visibility` 'private' | 'public' — Comment visibility
