# Rich summary stats

`GET /stats/summary`

Public metadata — no API key required. Jurisdictions breakdown,
events by type/severity, feature counts, last sync times.

Freshness: the response is cached for 5 minutes. `events.total` — the
count of every event row ever stored, as opposed to `events.active` —
is refreshed hourly rather than with the rest, because it is a
full-table count and moves by a fraction of a percent per hour. It is
exact, not estimated; only its refresh interval differs.
