# Send a notification to a specific user

`POST /internal/notifications/send`

Sends a notification to a specific user within the current tenant using internal authentication.

This endpoint is intended for backend-triggered notifications where the originating user JWT
may no longer be valid by the time the notification is sent.

## Request body

- object
  - `recipient_user_uuid` string, required — UUID of the user who should receive the notification
  - `thread_uuid` string — UUID of the conversation thread to deep link to
  - `playbook_run_uuid` string — UUID of the playbook run to deep link to
  - `title` string, required — Short title for the notification (2-3 words)
  - `message` string, required — Detailed message content
  - `channel` string — Notification channel: 'slack', 'email', or 'auto'
  - `dedupe_key` string — Optional idempotency key to suppress duplicate notifications for the same recipient

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - Invalid parameters or malformed request
- `401` — Unauthorized - Invalid or missing authentication
- `403` — Forbidden - User lacks permission to access this resource
- `404` — Not Found - Resource does not exist
- `422` — Unprocessable Entity - Invalid request parameters or validation errors
- `429` — Too Many Requests - Rate limit exceeded
- `500` — Internal Server Error - Unexpected server error
