# Delete single file

`POST /operations/deletefile`

Removes a specific object from the remote.

## Query parameters

- `fs` string
- `remote` string
- `_group` string
- `_async` boolean

## Headers

- `Prefer` 'respond-async'

## Request body

- OperationsDeletefileRequest
  - `fs` string — Remote name or path that contains the file to delete.
  - `remote` string — Exact path to the file within `fs` that should be deleted.
  - `_group` string — Assign the request to a custom stats group.
  - `_async` boolean — Run the command asynchronously. Returns a job id immediately.

## Response `200`

Request succeeded returning an empty JSON object.
