# Update a Prompt

`PUT /v1/prompts/{id}`

Updates the description of a specific prompt by its unique UUID.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- UpdatePromptRequest
  - `description` string — Brief summary explaining the prompt purpose.

    - `slug` string, required — Unique slug within the project.
    - `name` string, required — Name of the prompt container.
    - `description` string, required — Brief summary explaining the prompt purpose.
    - `status` 'active' | 'archived', required — Current status of the prompt container (active, archived).

    - `updated_at` string, date-time, required

- `400` — Invalid input or invalid UUID format
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden - Viewer or unauthorized team member
- `404` — Prompt not found
