# Move a Prompt

`POST /v1/prompts/{id}/move`

Moves a prompt from its current project to another project. Requires admin capability on both the source and target project (owning-team or org admin).

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

  - `project_id` string, uuid, required — The target project to move the prompt into.

## Response `200`

Prompt successfully moved

  - `prompt` Prompt, required
    - `id` string, uuid, required — Unique identifier.
    - `project_id` string, uuid, required — Unique identifier of the project the prompt belongs to.
    - `slug` string, required — Unique slug within the project.
    - `name` string, required — Name of the prompt container.
    - `description` string, required — Brief summary explaining the prompt purpose.
    - `status` 'active' | 'archived', required — Current status of the prompt container (active, archived).
    - `created_at` string, date-time, required
    - `updated_at` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid UUID format or project_id
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden (not an admin on the source or target project)
- `404` — Prompt or target project not found
- `409` — A prompt with this name or slug already exists in the target project
