# Update member's business role

`PATCH /businesses/{business_id}/members`

Update a member's business role within the business.

## Path parameters

- `business_id` string, required

## Request body

- BusinessMembershipMember[]
  - `business_role` 'EMPLOYEE' | 'BIZ_ADMIN', required — The access level a member has to the business. Values are case-sensitive. - EMPLOYEE: Can only view and access assets you assign to them. They cannot see details about other employees, partners, or other assets. - BIZ_ADMIN: Have full control of roles and can add employees and partners as well as grant asset access.
  - `member_id` string, required — Unique identifier of the member.

## Response `200`

The request has succeeded.

  - `items` BusinessMembershipMember[] — List of members with updated business access role.
    - `business_role` 'EMPLOYEE' | 'BIZ_ADMIN', required — The access level a member has to the business. Values are case-sensitive. - EMPLOYEE: Can only view and access assets you assign to them. They cannot see details about other employees, partners, or other assets. - BIZ_ADMIN: Have full control of roles and can add employees and partners as well as grant asset access.

## Other responses

- `400` — The request could not be understood by the server due to unexpected data.
- `401` — Authentication is required and has either failed or not been provided.
- `403` — The request was valid, but the server is refusing action. The user might not have the necessary permissions for a resource.
- `404` — The requested resource could not be found on this server.
- `429` — The user has sent too many requests in a given amount of time and is being rate limited.
- `default` — An unexpected error response.
