# Create a content group

`POST /api/v1/public/groups`

## Request body

- CreateGroupRequest
  - `name` string, required — Content group name (not required to be unique within the organization)
  - `description` string — Optional free-text description

## Response `201`

Content group created

- Group
  - `id` string, required — Unique identifier of the content group
  - `name` string, required — Content group name (not required to be unique within the organization)
  - `description` string — Optional free-text description
  - `createdAt` string, required — When the content group was created — timestamp (ISO-8601 format)
  - `updatedAt` string, required — When the content group was last updated — timestamp (ISO-8601 format)

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad request. The request could not be parsed or a parameter failed validation. Verify the request body, the content type, and the parameter types, then retry.
- `401` — Unauthorized. Authentication failed because the access token is missing, expired, or invalid. Supply a valid access token and retry.
- `422` — Unprocessable entity. The request was well-formed but failed validation. The response body lists each offending field in the `errors` array, with its resource, field, and a human-readable message. Correct the listed fields and retry.
- `500` — Internal server error
