# Delete an async redaction record.

`DELETE /api/documents/{documentId}`

Requires the `documents:write` scope.

## Path parameters

- `documentId` string, required

## Query parameters

- `owner` string

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, required

## Response `200`

The record and any stored redacted bytes were deleted.

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — Unknown document id.
- `413` — Content Too Large
- `415` — Unsupported Media Type
- `500` — Internal Server Error
- `503` — Service Unavailable
