# Remove User Role

`DELETE /api/access/v2/users/{userId}/access-levels`

Use this API to remove a specific role from a user.

## Path parameters

- `userId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- PlatformAccessManagementPublicAccessLevelRequest
  - `organizationId` string, uuid, required — The unique identifier of the organization.
  - `roleId` string, uuid, required — The unique identifier of the role.

## Response `204`

Access level removed successfully

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid request data - malformed UUID, invalid request body, removal would leave user with no roles in default organization, or removal would leave no site admins in root organization
- `401` — Unauthorized - Invalid or missing authentication
- `403` — Forbidden - Insufficient permissions
- `404` — Organization, role or access level not found
- `409` — Conflict - User does not exist

- `500` — Internal Server Error
