# Get a list of Variable names.

`GET /variables/names`

List the names of variables that can be used in deployment actions. If a project is specified, this will include variables in that project. If a project environments filter is specified, project variables which are scoped to an unspecified environment will be excluded.

## Query parameters

- `gitRef` string
- `project` string
- `projectEnvironmentsFilter` string[]
- `runbook` string

## Response `200`

The requested list of Variable names

- string[]

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad request. Either the payload was not structurally valid or business rules did not permit the operation.
- `404` — Not found. One or more of the entities involved in the operation was not found.
