# Retrieve a topic

`GET /v2/topics/{topicKey}`

Retrieve a topic by its unique key identifier **topicKey**

- `topicKey` string, required

  - `_id` string, required — The identifier of the topic
  - `key` string, required — The unique key of the topic
  - `name` string — The name of the topic
  - `createdAt` string — The date the topic was created
  - `updatedAt` string — The date the topic was last updated

- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden
- `404` — Not Found
- `405` — Method Not Allowed
- `409` — Conflict
- `413` — Payload Too Large
- `414` — URI Too Long
- `415` — Unsupported Media Type
- `422` — Unprocessable Entity
- `429` — The client has sent too many requests in a given amount of time.
- `500` — Internal Server Error
- `503` — The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload or scheduled maintenance, which will likely be alleviated after some delay.
