# Retrieve a domain by name

`GET /v1/domains/{domain}`

Returns the domain configuration and the DNS records that must be in place. This is a pure read; call `domains.verify` to refresh verification status from DNS.

- `414` — URI Too Long
- `415` — Unsupported Media Type
- `422` — Unprocessable Entity
- `429` — The client has sent too many requests in a given amount of time.
- `500` — Internal Server Error
- `503` — The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload or scheduled maintenance, which will likely be alleviated after some delay.
