# Search memories

`POST /memories/search`

Search memories with semantic similarity.

## Query parameters

- `space_id` string, nullable — Space ID to search in (defaults to user's default space)

## Request body

- SearchQuery — Model for memory search queries.
  - `query` string, required — Search query text
  - `limit` integer, nullable — Maximum number of results
  - `filter_tags` string[], nullable — Filter by tags
  - `filter_source` string, nullable — Filter by source
  - `min_importance` integer, nullable — Minimum importance
  - `space_id` string, nullable — Space to search in (omit for all spaces)

List of matching memories

- Memory[]
  - `content` string, required — Memory content text
  - `tags` string[], nullable — Tags for categorizing the memory
  - `source` string, nullable — Source of the memory
  - `importance` integer, nullable — Importance score (1-10)
  - `category` string, nullable — Memory category within space
  - `metadata` object, nullable — Additional metadata
  - `id` string, required — Unique identifier
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required — Creation timestamp
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable — Last update timestamp
  - `created_by_user` string, required — User who created this memory
  - `space_id` string, nullable — Space this memory belongs to
  - `space_name` string, nullable — Name of the space
  - `tenant_id` string, nullable — Legacy tenant identifier
  - `full_content` string, nullable — Complete original content (internal use)
  - `is_chunk` boolean — Whether this memory is a chunk of larger content
  - `parent_memory_id` string, nullable — ID of parent memory if this is a chunk
  - `chunk_index` integer, nullable — Index of this chunk within parent memory
  - `total_chunks` integer, nullable — Total number of chunks in parent memory
  - `chunk_metadata` object, nullable — Chunk-specific metadata

## Other responses

- `401` — Unauthorized
- `413` — Request Entity Too Large
- `422` — Validation Error
