# Update variable name

`PATCH /dataTables/{data_table_id}/variableNames`

Update an existing variable's name and apply it to all scenarios in the DataTable

## Path parameters

- `data_table_id` string, required

## Request body

- VariableNamesUpdateRequest
  - `name` string — Current variable name
  - `new_name` string — The updated variable name

## Response `200`

The current variable names
