# Update a field map

`PATCH /v1/field-maps/{fieldMapId}`

Use this endpoint to update the fields of a specific field map by its identifier.

## Path parameters

- `fieldMapId` string, required

## Headers

- `X-Request-Id` string
- `X-Idempotency-Key` string

## Request body

- UpdateFieldMapRequest
  - `mapping` object

## Response `200`

Successfully updated field map.

The response includes the `X-Idempotency-Replayed` header.

If the value is false, the request was just processed. If the value is true, the response is a replay of a previously processed request.

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid request payload
- `401` — The request lacks valid authentication credentials.
- `403` — You do not have permission to access this resource.
- `404` — Field map not found
- `409` — Idempotency conflict: request with same key in progress
- `500` — An unexpected error occurred on the server.
