# Retrieve a project event definition

`GET /event-definitions/{id}`

- `id` string, uuid, required

Success

- ProjectEventDefinitionResponse
  - `data` ProjectEventDefinition, required
    - `id` string, uuid, required — Unique event definition ID
    - `name` string, required — Event name. Must be lowercase and may contain optional dot-separated segments. Each segment starts with a lowercase letter and may contain lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores. Maximum 128 characters.
    - `description` string, nullable — Human-readable description of what this event means
    - `property_schema` object, required — Declared properties for this event. Values are keyed by property name.
    - `last_seen_at` string, date-time, nullable — Timestamp of the latest emitted event with this definition, when available.
    - `created_at` string, date-time, required
    - `updated_at` string, date-time, required
    - `archived_at` string, date-time, nullable, required — Timestamp when the definition was archived, or null when active.

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid API key
- `404` — Resource not found
