# Get the ancestor list for an Entity.  The ancestors are the nodes connected "upstream" from the current node.  This list traverses all the levels in the graph.

`GET /ancestors/{id}`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

An array of ancestors is returned

- object[]

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid or misformatted entity identifier
- `401` — The user's token has expired or the user did not supply a valid token
- `403` — The user is not authorized to access the entity
- `404` — The target entity could not be found
- `500` — Internal error
