# Query time series analytics

`POST /environments/{envId}/analytics/time-series`

Return data points over time with optional grouping by facets.

Time series responses will include the lower and upper bound of the time range as the first and last buckets.

## Path parameters

- `envId` string, required

## Request body

- TimeSeriesRequest — A time series request is a request to obtain data points over time, organized by a specified interval. The time series buckets can be themselves nested by facets, allowing to group data by multiple nested facets over time.
  - `interval` union, required — A fixed time interval for time series analytics queries. Intervals are be expressed in milliseconds or duration strings (e.g., 10s, 1m, 5h).
    - string — Shorthand for expressing interval in seconds, minutes, hours or days as a string
    - number — Interval in milliseconds
  - `timeRange` TimeRange, required — Time range for analytics queries
    - `from` string, date-time, required — Start timestamp as an ISO 8601 date string or an epoch unix timestamp
    - `to` string, date-time, required — End timestamp as an ISO 8601 date string or an epoch unix timestamp
  - `by` FacetName[] — List of facet names to group time-series buckets (up to two facets)
  - `limit` integer — Maximum number of nested buckets to return
  - `filters` Filter[] — Top-level time series filters
    - union — Filter specification for analytics queries. Filters can be used at the top level of a request to refine the analytics results, or nested within a metrics to refine specific measures.
