# Delete folder.

`DELETE /folders/{folder_uid}`

> **Deprecated.**

Deletes an existing folder identified by UID along with all dashboards (and their alerts) stored in the folder. This operation cannot be reverted.
If nested folders are enabled then it also deletes all the subfolders.

Use: /apis/folder.grafana.app/v1/namespaces/{ns}/folders/{folder_uid}

## Response `200`

  - `id` integer, required — ID Identifier of the deleted folder.
  - `message` string, required — Message Message of the deleted folder.
  - `title` string, required — Title of the deleted folder.

## Other responses

- `400` — BadRequestError is returned when the request is invalid and it cannot be processed.
- `401` — UnauthorizedError is returned when the request is not authenticated.
- `403` — ForbiddenError is returned if the user/token has insufficient permissions to access the requested resource.
- `404` — NotFoundError is returned when the requested resource was not found.
- `500` — InternalServerError is a general error indicating something went wrong internally.
