# Create new user.

`POST /admin/users`

If you are running Grafana Enterprise and have Fine-grained access control enabled, you need to have a permission with action `users:create`.
Note that OrgId is an optional parameter that can be used to assign a new user to a different organization when `auto_assign_org` is set to `true`.

## Request body

- AdminCreateUserForm
  - `email` string
  - `login` string
  - `name` string
  - `orgId` integer
  - `password` string

## Response `200`

(empty)

- AdminCreateUserResponse
  - `id` integer
  - `message` string
  - `uid` string

## Other responses

- `400` — BadRequestError is returned when the request is invalid and it cannot be processed.
- `401` — UnauthorizedError is returned when the request is not authenticated.
- `403` — ForbiddenError is returned if the user/token has insufficient permissions to access the requested resource.
- `412` — PreconditionFailedError
- `500` — InternalServerError is a general error indicating something went wrong internally.
