# Public XAU/USD daily-close history (1 year, hourly refresh, no auth)

`GET /v1/public/xau-history`

Year-back daily-close series for XAU-USD-SPOT. No auth, no tier
gate, no per-IP cap. Refreshes once per hour to deter scraping —
callers within the same hour receive identical bytes.

Used by the /data/gold forward-view chart (left-half history) and
any future marketing surface that needs price context without
asking the visitor for an API key.
