# Associate elastic IP with instance

`POST /v1/elastic-ips/{id}/associate`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- ElasticIPAssociateConfig
  - `instanceID` string, uuid, nullable — set instanceID and instanceType to associate the elastic IP to the instance, set to null to disassociate the elastic IP from the instance
  - `instanceType` 'baremetal' | 'container', nullable

## Response `200`

An action completed successfully

## Other responses

- `400` — bad request
- `401` — Authentication information is missing or invalid
- `404` — The specified resource was not found
- `409` — request failed due to a conflict create or update
- `500` — Internal Server Error
- `503` — a dependent service is unavailable
