# Get the authenticated app

`GET /app`

Returns the GitHub App associated with the authentication credentials used. To see how many app installations are associated with this GitHub App, see the `installations_count` in the response. For more details about your app's installations, see the "[List installations for the authenticated app](https://docs.github.com/enterprise-cloud@latest/rest/apps/apps#list-installations-for-the-authenticated-app)" endpoint.

You must use a [JWT](https://docs.github.com/enterprise-cloud@latest/apps/building-github-apps/authenticating-with-github-apps/#authenticating-as-a-github-app) to access this endpoint.

Response

- Integration, nullable — GitHub apps are a new way to extend GitHub. They can be installed directly on organizations and user accounts and granted access to specific repositories. They come with granular permissions and built-in webhooks. GitHub apps are first class actors within GitHub.

  - `events` string[], required — The list of events for the GitHub app. Note that the `installation_target`, `security_advisory`, and `meta` events are not included because they are global events and not specific to an installation.
  - `installations_count` integer — The number of installations associated with the GitHub app. Only returned when the integration is requesting details about itself.
