# Update a group

`PUT /accounts/self/contact-groups/{group_id}`

Update an existing group (Permitted scopes: **fax:all:edit**)

## Path parameters

- `group_id` string, required

## Request body

- ContactGroupUpdate
  - `name` string — Group name
  - `notes` string — Additional notes or description for the group

## Response `200`

Response containing a single group object

- ContactGroup
  - `id` string — Group ID
  - `name` string — Group name
  - `notes` string — Additional notes or description for the group
  - `is_shared` boolean — Whether group is shared with corporate members
  - `creation_date` string — Date group was created
  - `modification_date` string — Date group was last modified

## Other responses

- `400` — Error object in case there's a problem with given data
- `401` — Error object in case there's a problem with the authorization
- `404` — Requested resource was not found
- `500` — Error object in case there's a server error
