# Read User's Groups

`GET /groups`

Get the groups that the current user is a member of.  A user tree group is represented as a GedcomX FamilySearch extension [`Group`](#schema-Group).

## Headers

- `Accept` 'application/x-fs-v1+json' | 'application/json', required

## Response `200`

The read was successful. See <a href="https://developers.familysearch.org/main/docs/json-schema#group" target="_blank">Group Schema (JSON)</a>

## Other responses

- `204` — Current user is not a member of any user tree groups.
- `429` — The request was throttled.
