# Generate event v2

`POST /api/v2/event`

Sends any backend <a href="https://docs.esputnik.com/reference/how-to-use-the-generate-event-api-resource">events</a> from websites and mobile apps to our system. Secure for sensitive data.For sending frontend events, mobile apps should use <a href="https://docs.esputnik.com/reference/integrating-your-app-with-esputnik">SDK</a>.The request example is available <a href="https://docs.esputnik.com/reference/abandonedcart-event-example">at the link</a>.<ul><li><b>NOTE:</b> The maximum size of event data in the request body is <b>20 KB</b>.</li></ul>

## Request body

- Event
  - `eventTypeKey` string, required — Unique identifier for the event type, e.g., PageViewed. <a href="https://docs.esputnik.com/docs/validating-event-parameters#eventtypekey">Read more...</a>
  - `params` EventParameter[] — An array of objects — lists with key-value pairs containing contact identifiers (required) and event-specific parameters (optional).<a href="https://docs.esputnik.com/docs/validating-event-parameters#params">Read more...</a>
    - `name` string
    - `value` object
