# Delete a Check

`DELETE /v2/uptime/checks/{check_id}`

To delete an Uptime check, send a DELETE request to `/v2/uptime/checks/$CHECK_ID`. A 204 status
code with no body will be returned in response to a successful request.


Deleting a check will also delete alerts associated with the check.

## Path parameters

- `check_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `204`

The action was successful and the response body is empty.

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
- `default` — There was an unexpected error.
