# Retrieve the Public Certificate

`GET /v2/databases/{database_cluster_uuid}/ca`

To retrieve the public certificate used to secure the connection to the database cluster send a GET request to
`/v2/databases/$DATABASE_ID/ca`.

The response will be a JSON object with a `ca` key. This will be set to an object
containing the base64 encoding of the public key certificate.

## Path parameters

- `database_cluster_uuid` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

A JSON object with a key of `ca`.

- object
  - `ca` Ca, required
    - `certificate` string, required — base64 encoding of the certificate used to secure database connections

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
- `default` — There was an unexpected error.
